Who cares for the caregiver? Doula work is often felt as unsustainable for various reasons. One of which being that emotional, care-centered work continues not to be valued or understood for its impact on those who hold these roles in communities. Doulas share in the unique experience of holding compassionate space for people as they navigate life’s major transitions. Each Doula is having a unique experience of holding that role based on their background, identities, and access to resources and support. All types of Doulas are welcome to attend this virtual circle. Ultimately, the goal is to hold non-judgemental, supportive and confidential space to witness and be witnessed for where we are and what we need to keep going in our personal journeys as Doulas.
