Join us for a unique opportunity to gather together in-person and contemplate our mortality. A globally recognized model, Death Cafes are meant to offer shared spaces for people to discuss death, dying, and grief together without the stigma or concern for how these topics might be received by others. Often people attend a Death Cafe because they don’t know where to go to have real and raw conversations about death and dying.
This gathering is not meant to function as a traditional “support group,” provide therapy, or processing of experiences more suited for one-on-one counseling. It is rather a space to consider what you believe, witness, and uncover your truth. Emily holds a trauma-informed container for this event, and gently guides participants through different conversation topics each month. Conversations occur in pairs, rotating to different partners with each new topic. Participants are exposed to multiple points of view and lived experiences that offer reflection, perspective, and empathy for all the ways mortality has the power to connect and heal us.
Tea, coffee, and juice are provided. This is a donation-based event. Contributions are not required to attend. Your presence and participation are equally appreciated.
